10 YEAR JUBILEE Graz 2017 | Masterclass & Competition
Mozart "Haffner" & Schubert "Great C major"
In Collaboration with Kammerphilharmonie Graz

From 21 till 25 August we are inviting you, for the 11th consecutive year, to our popular summer conducting masterclass in Graz, the only course of its kind with a professional Austrian orchestra.
The masterclasses have been founded by Achim Holub ten years ago, already then part of an intensive summer working period with concerts in his native region of Southern Austria.

You will have the unique opportunity to conduct one of Central Europe’s leading chamber orchestras, Kammerphilharmonie Graz, and immerse yourself in the breath-taking scenery of Baroque architecture and inspiring landscape of Austria's second largest city.

This year you are going to work on important symphonies by Austria's two famous composers Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Franz Schubert.
All participants will conduct the orchestra at the final concert, which will also be a competition, at one of Graz's most beautiful venues.

The tuition focus will be on conducting technique and performance practice, personal coaching sessions will be tailored to the participants’ individual requirements.
Additionally, Achim Holub, now one of Austria's most successful conductors, will share his experience of 20 years of collaboration with world class musicians and recording companies like Deutsche Grammophon Gesellschaft in talks about career planning, orchestra management and record producing.

The city centre of Graz is a UNESCO Cultural World Heritage site and offers a great variety of high quality restaurants and cafes.
The surroundings are famous for their beauty and the South of Styria is considered to be one of the world’s best wine-growing regions.
