Masterclass & Competition II:
7 till 12 August | London Classical Soloists

In summer 2017 we would like to invite you to a series of two exciting six day masterclasses which will feature many of the orchestral masterworks of the 18th- and 19th-century repertoire and give you the opportunity to get the most professional advice available.

During a minimum of 95 minutes podium time for each course you will work with the London Classical Soloists on your own choice of movements.
Each participant in Masterclass II will conduct at two concerts, including a competition, and receive professional, edited audio and video recordings.

Achim Holub, the most successful Austrian conductor of the younger generation, will coach you on technique as well as on rehearsal preparation and will give you personal feedback with comprehensive career advice.

The courses will take place close to the Royal Albert Hall, sessions will finish in time for attending most of the BBC Proms concerts.

This courses will be part of our Passionate About Classical Music project, with performances of the Beethoven symphonies in the UK and Europe in 2018, as well as recordings and the publishing of a new book by Achim Holub.

We have not made final decisions yet, nevertheless, since we are expecting a lot of interest in this masterclasses, please make sure to apply as early as possible!

General Information
Venue: the courses will take place in Central West London
Number of participants: 12
Podium time with orchestra: a minimum of 95 minutes, including 2 concert performances
Additionally to piano and orchestra sessions, each single participant will receive post-rehearsal feedback and one-to-one personal coaching sessions with comprehensive career advice.

Video
A personalized multi-angle video of your performances including a professional sound recording will be available shortly after the concerts and is included in the course fee.
Additionally, you will receive your complete orchestra sessions video footage.

Arrival: Sunday 6 or Monday 7 August morning
Departure: Saturday 12 August evening or Sunday 13 August
Concerts: Wednesday 9 August and Friday 11 August, 7.30pm

Fee Payment
There are no application or registration fees and we will try to process your application as quickly as possible.
A deposit of £350 will be due two weeks (one week if applying after Friday 16 June) after receiving our offer of place.
The remaining amount of the course fee will be due on the first day of the masterclass.

We recommend working on your own choice of two to three movements/overture from each group, four to six per masterclass.

Competition
Participation in the competition is optional.
All members of the orchestra will be involved in the competition voting process.
Additionally, there will be a panel of five jury members, among them some of the most successful London-based conductors, instrumentalists and music professionals.
The results of both concerts will be included in the final result which will be announced after the second concert.
The first six results will be announced publicly after the second concert, you will receive your competition feedback at the personal coaching session on the following day.
The winner will be considered for future concert engagements.
